Shraddhavan is the Sanskrit name given in June 1972 by the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram to a young Englishwoman who had recently joined the up-coming project of Auroville in South India. The Mother had asked her to work in the Aspiration School, which was just being started at the time of her arrival in November 1970. She has continued to work in a wide range of educational projects and activities in Auroville, and since 1999 she has been the Project Coordinator of Savitri Bhavan, a centre dedicated to gathering and making available all kinds of materials that would assist understanding and appreciation of Sri Aurobindo’s revolutionary epic poem Savitri. This reading of the 1993 edition of the poem was prepared over about 8 years, with the intention of helping those who would like to hear the whole text read with a correct English pronunciation. It is available in MP3 format as a set of 2CDs from: Savitri Bhavan Auroville 605101, Tamil Nadu, India
